To Detox or Not to Detox....

DimensionL Wellbeing provides the philosophy, methodology and container to enable a person to experience what it truly means to feel and stay well: we call it a return to Wholeness. Our approach keeps LOVE in the center. We are here to guide our clients to the highest expression of themselves. The result being greater well-being for the individual and therefore greater well-being for society. Our way provides the opportunity to function in your fullness with more consistency.

At DimensionL Wellbeing we recognize and honor that multidimensional beings must be met with a potential focused, sustainable, multifaceted approach to Vital Wellbeing. We define Wholeness through the lens of 8 dimensions and when applied with LOVE creates a Vibrant Lifestyle.

Through our offerings and care, we help our clients navigate these issues to support them in becoming their own health advocate and turning on their Inner Light. When these dimensions are in resonance, the more LIGHT a person will exude. This is not a quick fix or another marker of achievement, rather it is a way of living and thriving through connection, education and exploration. True health is found in personal coherence - this is when what one says, believes, feels and acts upon are in alignment.

Our mission is to provide impactful and empowering care which awakens people to their divine design and entanglement to the universe; supporting the activation of their full potential.  That is why we created the 8 Dimensions of Wellbeing, which transforms lives and reduces or eliminates suffering.

This blog explores the dimensions of physical and environmental and introduces reasons why one may choose to participate in a detoxification protocol. I have explored many detoxification protocols and believe in their ability to transform health, if done in a careful, thoughtful environment and with support.

As a food enthusiast I believe there is a recipe for everything; including leading a happy, healthy life. Personally having dealt with a compromised immune & digestive system, I have thoroughly traveled the road back to health; both through research and application. This is why I have aligned my practice with restoring digestive function, proper detoxification and elimination for clients; which are essential to living a healthy life.

Some may disagree that it is not necessary to participate in regular detoxification but I would beg to differ.

According to a study by the Environmental Working Group, blood samples from newborns contained an average of 287 toxins, including mercury, fire retardants and pesticides.

It is my logic that if unborn life form is already subjected to this astronomical number of toxins, what would the toxin load of the average adult look like?

Here are a list of unexplained symptoms that may benefit from detoxifying treatments:

  • Fatigue

  • Sluggish elimination

  • Irritated skin

  • Allergies

  • Low-grade infections

  • Mental confusion

  • Menstrual difficulties

  • Bags under the eyes

  • Distended stomach

  • Constipation/diarrhea

Personally, I like to participate in seasonal cleanses for my body, which equates to four cleanses a year. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways and mild detoxification can be done year round!

10 ways to boost your detoxification pathways, naturally.

  1. Practice Dry-brushing: This helps your skin remove toxins through your pores and stimulates the lymphatic system. Also helps to stimulate circulation and tones your muscles

  2. Eliminate Food Toxins: Living a conscious life includes being responsible for what enters your body. Foods laden with dyes, chemicals, GMO’s, high fructose corn syrup and trans fat have all been proven to have adverse effects on our health. Reducing these culprits allows your body’s immune & detoxification system to function at a more optimal level, as it is not having to spend overtime removing the junk.

  3. Infrared sauna therapy: 20-30 minutes of this sauna produces the same amount of perspiration as a 6mile run. Additionally cardiovascular & immune function are strengthened. Sweating rids your body or toxins; such as, chemicals, heavy metals, cholesterol and alcohol.

  4. Breathing Exercises: Can be calming or energizing. Helps boost blood oxygen levels, support vagal tone and offers relief from digestive and stress related disorders.

  5. Whole Body Exercise: Our bodies are made to move and doing so supports natural release of toxins through sweat, releasing them from muscles and improving digestive function. I highly recommend a healthy balance of cardiovascular, stretching, and weight or resistance training. My personal favorites are cycling, yoga and Lagree which incorporates isometric training.

  6. Water: The quality and quantity of water that you drink will directly affect your body’s detoxification ability. The best source of water I know is Live Pristine, as it is the only one that filters out acid rain. Additionally, it is important to drink approximately half your body weight (in ounces) daily. Any dehydrating activity (smoking, drinking, etc) add an additional 8 ounces, as a general rule of thumb.

  7. Eat plenty of fiber, both soluble and insoluble: Soluble fiber attracts water and slows down digestion and has a beneficial effect on blood sugar regulation. Great sources of soluble fiber are oats, lentils, pears, chia seeds and flaxseeds. Insoluble fiber helps prevent constipation and can have a more laxative effect because they speed up the passage of food and waste through your gut. The best sources of insoluble fiber are found in vegetables and whole grains. Having a good combination of both helps with proper absorption and elimination.

  8. Practice gratitude: What we think becomes our actions. Practicing gratitude opens up more space to receive more good in your life and detox from that which is no longer serving you.

  9. Support Your Gut Integrity with ION Biome: ION Biome increase the integrity of the gut lining and the function of your immune system. You can find this product in our market.

  10. Castor Oil Packs: A great tool to support liver detoxification. I also use these on my intestines, too. Read more about and how to do them, here.

As you can see there are many ways to support your detoxification pathways. When working with me one on one, we further customize your detoxification needs, potentially even supporting in an organ or pathogen specific cleanse. You can learn more about my offerings, here
